Moments Before

Yoshiki Tsujinaka and Hikaru Indou in Chapter 1 of the anime and manga “The Summer Hikaru Died”, written by Mokumokuren. I wanted to show the initial impression I had from the show when I first watched it, where the two main characters were peacefully enjoying a day after school together only for Yoshiki, the black hair boy, to say to his friend that he knows he’s not the real Hikaru. I love the urban design of the scene, and how it looks so calm, normal, and peaceful, creating a contrast to the events after and the rest of the show really well.

I looked at images from the show and manga when i drew this, using pencils to sketch it out, the acrylics for the rough shapes and shading, and a 0.5 pen for outlines and finer details.
